Rt’s North Hills Cycle opened in April of 1999 with the heart and soul of Ron Tonetti and Sara Liberte in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A custom motorcycle shop that specializes in ground up custom built bikes with all work completed in house, from fabrication to finish paint. Something most other shops can’t offer.
Ron Tonetti
Ron has been a mechanic and painter for over 23 years. His work has won several awards and graced many motorcycle magazines. You can also see many of his bikes on the cover of several high demand books. Ron offers his customers innovative bike designs, styled to the individual client. His fabrication skills are limitless from custom tank stretching, to hand built sheet metal and custom molding. His paint experience began with selling paint at an auto parts store where he gained the knowledge of the chemistry and mixing of paint. He has since mastered the art of body work and applying colors with a flawless finish. His artistic talents come into play when designing custom graphics or his signature RT flames. Ron’s experience doesn’t stop there he is also a well respected engine builder, not only motorcycle V-twins, but automotive engines as well. Ron values his dedication to his creations and is proud to offer 100% of his craftsmanship in each build. Ron always combines style with performance and his work is recognized to be of the highest quality and anything less is not an option.

Sara Liberte
Sara Liberte has her roots in several fields of this business. Since graduating from Montserrat College Of art in 1997, Sara has been a professional photographer specializing almost exclusively in motorcycle and portrait photography. Her photos have appeared in renowned motorcycle publications, including Easy Riders Magazine, In the Wind, and Iron Works. She is staff photography editor for The Cycle Source Magazine. Her photos have been used in advertising and marketing campaigns, and annual reports. Throughout her professional career Sara has maintained her fine art photography study of combining images of women with motorcycle components. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries, including Mingo Art Gallery, formally in Beverly, Massachusetts, and Blue Ruin Gallery in Pittsburgh.
Sara also co-owns and operates RT’s North Hills Cycle Inc, where she has her hands in all aspects of the business — from managing parts and service and working on motorcycles, to designing custom paint jobs and custom-building motorcycles. The March 2005 Issue of Iron Works magazine features an article written by Mike Seate that focuses on Sara’s unique blend of careers as custom bike builder, shop owner and fine art photographer. The October 2005 issue of Hot Bike magazine also profiles Sara and her career as shop owner and artist. Sara’s new book “How to repair and maintain American V-twin Motorcycles” published by MBI international will be available early 2006. Her fine art work “Woman and machine” has been on tour at every major motorcycle rally in the U.S. this year.

Ed Watt
Ed started here at North Hills Cycle in spring of 2005. He brings his knowledge of sport bikes and parts sales to our parts department. He has been riding since he was 12 and now rides an 04 XL that he continually improves on. Ed works at the parts counter and in the garage. He served in the Marines from Sept. 98 – Sept 03 and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ed then spent his first semester of college taking welding courses before he switched his major to mechanical engineering with a minor in business. This self-taught artist will soon be picking up more responsibility here at the shop with all of the knowledge he has under his belt.
